Induction Week
In one of our first welcome lessons we watched a video of our course leader Sharon made over the summer, she had created faces on paper bags and created a short video about a villain terrorizing a small village.
From that we were asked to create faces on are own paper bags but it had to portray what we wanted to be and look like in 5 years time.
This is my mask I tried to portray that I want to be very creative, colourful and flamboyant with my make up in 5 years time. To be honest I did struggle on this task as we had a short amount of time and I didn't have a clear idea of what I wanted it to look like. After we had created our masks we had to go to photography studio to take a picture with our masks, I decided at the last minute to cut the top of my paper bag so that my hair could come through, however it didn't turn out quite the way I thought it would.
Next time if I was to do this task again I would probably make the hair out of something else rather pull my hair out of the top. I'd also try and think outside the box, as I don't think it really shows what I want to be in 5 years time.
Overall I really enjoyed to task as it made you really think and it was under time restraints. It was also amazing seeing my classmates creations as some of them were really imaginative.
After the lesson we had to go out into the public to take a photo with out masks on. This was slightly embarrassing but at the same time it was very fun as we had a lot of students look at as strangely. We took our photo right outside our building, under a sign quoting "Spark your imagination" which was quite fitting for this task.
